Redefining Puglia’s 2030 tourism and cultural strategic pillars
The Regional Tourism Agency of Puglia, Pugliapromozione, needed to updated its strategy with a specific focus on how to tackle the new challenges coming from the post-covid economy as well as from the recents international conflicts.
KEY ACTIVITIES
In collaboration with Alkemy, I worked alongside the client's team to create a plan for supporting the initial orientation phase.
By combining macro-trends with benchmarking of international destinations we focused on those cases that had an innovative approach to cultural and tourism strategic plans.
I designed the tools to support the research and analysis of the Region and the 6 provinces to evaluate the key challenges, values and opportunities for the new vision.
Undertourism has led to the rediscovery of territorial areas that are still little explored. Personal values are amplified when choosing a destination. Human relationships and the engagement in meaningful experiences become the true engine of tomorrow's tourism.
A series of participative events were held by the regional agency to meet citizens and the regional stakeholders. The sessions were also moderated using the tools designed to collect feedback and ideas from the participants.
As a final output we designed a toolkit to help Pugliapromozione and the different stakeholders involved in culture and tourism to move from round table discussions to decisions making, ideation and definition of future actions. This set of guidelines and a step-by-step framework for implementation were integrated in the final strategic white paper.

We organised and facilitated co-design activities and a Design Thinking process in order to select the most meaningful functionalities for the end users. During the process we collected business needs and requirements to build a winning product strategy.
The project constantly drew inspiration from the contemporary art world and the guiding principles of making art exhibition more approachable and accessible.
A shot of a live exhibition in Milan, where the new interactions were tested in public with real users.
We redesigned the core features of the app and defined new ones, keeping the focus on entertainment as well as on the potential educational aspects it could provide. We orchestrated the UX and UI around the different types of content, from visual and audio media to in-depth textual content and augmented reality. We designed an experience that can help users to create a deeper connection with their art experiences.

Designing the first interactive phygital library in UAE
Shurooq, the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority was preparing to celebrate the Emirate’s designation as a UNESCO World Book Capital with the construction of a unique library that would put bot physical and digital experiences at its core.
KEY ACTIVITIES
I've been leading a multidisciplinary team of service and space designers, defining and running the research strategy, the ideation and the design phases for the overall library experience. We conducted ethnographic research across the cities of Sharjah, Dubai and Abu Dhabi, collecting more than 250 evidences and 15 key insights around 5 different themes.
The project started while the site was already in construction. It was crucial to have conversations on the field with the different stakeholders to make sure the infrastructure would support the designed experience from the start.
We developed a detailed blueprint of the entire multimedia experience, the phygital journey across multiple touchpoints for the different key users and the requirements for the implementation of the service and tech infrastructure.
